Night Race 2010

On 1 September 2010, in the soft light of a beautiful full moon, the first annual CCS Night Race took place and what an event it was! The race took place at the Voortrekker Monument with about 900 runners/walkers. With the wonderful odour of boerewors and pancakes in the air, the start was signalled at 18:30 and the athletes were on their way. With lots of up and down hills, the race proved to be a challenge to all, but the beautiful scenery and candles along the way made up for all the pain and effort.

Thank you to everyone who sup[ported the race. Our thanks to all the staff, parents and families who were involved and helped to make this a special event. A special word of thanks to Christell Bloch and Michelle Schlödder for all their effort and hard work. A special word if thanks to Alpha Centurion Runners Club and Gauteng North for their support and help. This event would not have been such a success without all your valuable and much appreciated help.

An estimated amount of R6000 profit was made. Many compliments were received regarding the race since the race is now on the map, next year’s promises to be an even greater success.
