Book of Hope Outreach Project 2006

The Book of hope project is a worldwide project which was initiated from the USA. The goal is to reach every learner in every school in the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In our area the project was initiated by the Centurion for Christ and Reach a Generation (RAG). The aim was to reach out to approximately 46,000 learners in the schools in Centurion, Valhalla and Laudium, during the period 15-26 May 2006. Our school was contacted by the organisers of the project and requested to become a part of this by sending a team for training on how to do the presentations.

On Saturday, 6 May, a team from CCS consisting of Ma’am Marika de Villiers, Ivan Lindell, Lézandra, Schalk, Pastor André and his wife, Susan, attended the training course which was presented at Lewende Woord, Centurion. More members were then trained at CCS.

The team first presented the program at CCS and then had the opportunity to go on an outreach to Uitsig Primary School. They presented the program to 841 learners from grades 1-7. The reaction of the more senior learners was overwhelming. After the presentation many wanted to know more about Jesus and a number of learners decided to give their lives to Christ. The school gave us a R500 blessing which has been used to purchase 39 bibles to take back to those learners who do not have Bibles.

Praise the Lord that our lights did really shine for those walking in darkness!
